comments : A long yarn about the growing up of Kim a kid from the streets of Punjab. How he goes travelling with a Lama and is inducted into the British Secret Service. The adventures they have along the way and the characters they meet .
It's not such a smooth read the pros e is sometimes a little obtuse .

In the end the Lama achieves enlightenment and Kim recovers from illness.
You not become enlightended by finding The sacred stream, but when achieve a state of mind you realise that jumping in any stream will do.
