Plum Bread

1lb Self Raising Flour
4ozs Margarine
8ozs Castor Sugar
8ozs Currants or Raisens
8ozs Sultanas
4 Eggs
Milk

Heat the oven to 150°C
Rub the margarine into the flour.
Stir in the sugar and dried fruit
Add the beaten eggs.
Stir in enough milk to make a good mixture
Put into two loaf tins.
Put the tins into the centre of the oven.
Bake for 1 hour.
Test with a skewer, when it comes out clean it's ready
Empty the loaves from the tins onto a wire tray.
Leave to cool.

8ozs Medium Oatmeal
4ozs Self Raising Flour
2ozs Margarine
4ozs Demerara Sugar
8ozs Golden Syrup
2 teaspoons of Ground Ginger
1Egg
1/4 pint Milk

Heat the oven to 150°C
Rub the margarine into the oatmeal and flour.
Warm the sryrup in a jug in the oven
Stir the syrup, sugar and ginger into the mixture.
Put the milk into the jug with the egg.
Pour this into the mixture and mix.
Put into tin (13"x8").
Put the tin into the centre of the oven.
Bake for 1 hour.
Touch it, if it's firm it's ready
Cut into 10 equal pieces
Put the pieces onto a wire tray.
Leave to cool.
