Some words are very commonly mistranslated

bitch ≠ prostitute

.. any woman, who has done something you donít like, itís mildly insulting

it is often used in talking about a strong minded or tough women e.g. Thatcher

bastard is the equivalent word for men

to bitch = to complain

In Brazil people say "What is your city ?", we say "Where are you from ?"

CIDADE does not mean city

..in the UK it we say ...

city a place of more than 250.000 people

town a place of more than 15.000 people

village a place of less than 15.000 people

TENSE Sometimes Portuguese is very easy ... You can use the present tense even if we are talking about something in the past or something in the future.
