The Shakespeare Theatre Reviews

Twelfth Night By: Shakespeare
Performers :Night Witches Theatre Company Where : Ravenscourt Park, London When : 7/97
80% : Charming and Delightful
Review : The best thing I have seen in ages, every single member of the cast gave a truly inspired performance. They really brought out the magic in the witty and clever writing. Impressive use of a set consisting of just two trees a grass field and a large wooden box. The only fault was that it din't go on long enoug, they cut it down to 90 minutes; when they cut have had it longer and with n interval to give us chance to eat our picnic.
plot : miss understandings, mistaken identity, cross dressing the normal stuff

Henry V By: Shakespeare
Performers :RSC ; Star : Mark Ryance..director : Richard Olivier Where : Shakespeare's Globe Theatre When : 31/5/97
55% : OK, but didn't bring forth the full magic of Shakespeares words
Review : It seems to me that the "Kings" series are just not as good as Shakepeares other works , which are much lighter and yet more poignent
plot : The French stand up to Henry; he foolishly decides to fight ; the battle of Agincourt, he wins anyway, well he would we are English and we always win..then he goes and marries the Freanch princess and we all live happily after

Pericles By: Shakespeare
Performers :College Drama Students Where : Oxford College When : 12/6/97
65% : Simple but good
Review : Not perfect : but much more entertaining than the production of Henry V I had seen at the Globe a week earlier
plot : Another Shakepear case of mistaken identity, with twins and cross dressing. There are twins a boy and a girl on a ship, theres a storm each gets rescued, but by different people so they presume the other one has died etc
